We would like to share some exciting news with you, our members, and ask for your support. St. Dominic Credit Union is currently in discussions to merge with Waterford Credit Union to form a stronger, future-ready credit union. This is a big step, and one we truly believe is the right move for our members, our staff, and our community.

The Board of Directors and CEO of St. Dominic Credit Union are fully confident that this merger is in the best interest of you, our members. It will help us grow, modernise, and offer more while keeping everything you know and value the same. This is about future-proofing your credit union, so we can continue to serve you and your family for many years to come.

Here’s what it means for you:

  • 5 fully staffed branch locations across Waterford & South Kilkenny
  • Saturday opening for one central branch location
  • Your account and services will not change or be disrupted
  • Greater lending capacity
  • A wider range of products and services
  • Access to enhanced digital services
  • Improved member support
  • A more modern and future-ready credit union

This announcement is a show of intention by both Credit Unions to move forward in unison with this process. Both SDCU and WCU are wholly committed to ensuring that members are given the final say on this merger at a Special General Meeting before any decision can be made. To move forward, we need your vote.

We’re asking you to vote YES when the time comes.

We will send more information soon about how and when to vote, but for now, please know we are here to answer any questions you might have. You can visit us in either branch location, call us on 051 873 867, or email info@stdomincscu.ie
